INSTRUCTIONS FOR BLACK T- SHIRT INKJET TRANSFER PAPER Suitable for transferring black and white or colour images on to black or dark cotton using an iron. Printing 1. Store black transfer paper in a cool dry place in it’s original packaging. 2. Only print onto the coated side of the transfer paper. 3. Select normal and not mirror mode on your printer. Use single sheet feed only. 4. Printer settings: Normal paper mode using best print setting. 5. Before transferring, leave the printed image to dry for approx. 5 minutes. 6. Cut out the motif without leaving a margin around the edge, peel off the transfer backing. Tip: First print the desired motif on standard paper to check that the colour and size are correct. Transferring 1. Prepare a stable, heat resistant surface suitable for ironing on. 2. Preheat the iron to the highest setting, the recommended ironing temperature is 200°C 3. Do not use a travel iron. 4. Briefly iron the fabric to ensure that it is completely smooth, then place the transfer paper onto it face upwards. 5. In order to achieve a matt finish, cover the transfer with the greaseproof paper. 6. In order to achieve a glossy finish, cover the transfer with the silicone paper (red checked). 7. Do not use the steam function. Iron the transfer, gradually applying less pressure and making sure the heat is evenly transferred over the entire area. Don’t forget the corners and edges. 8. In order to gauge the correct ironing time allow 4 minutes for 1 A4 size image or 1 minute for a ¼ of an A4. 9. Allow the transfer to cool for a minimum of 1 minute then peel off the greaseproof or silicone paper in a smooth, even movement. 10. The same greaseproof paper or silicone sheet can be used more times. Fixing 1. The fixing process gives the transfer a fabric-like texture and improves the washing. 2. Allow the transfer to cool and re-iron with a greaseproof or silicone paper for 5-10 seconds. 3. After cooling for a minimum of 1 minute remove the greaseproof or silicone paper. Washing 1. Wash the garment/ fabric before wearing/ using. 2. Wait 24 hours before washing for the first time. 3. Fabrics bearing our transfers are machine washable up to 40 °C. Always wash garments inside out. 4. Do not use aggressive washing detergents or bleach of any kind. 5. Do not tumble dry. 6. When the textile is dry repeat the fixing process. 7. Avoid ironing directly over the transferred motif.
