The Edge DS is the latest multi-function multimedia adapter for use with the Nintendo DS and Nintendo DS Lite.
 

The Edge DS is the same size as any standard Nintendo DS Lite game cartridge. It has a built in memory card reader which can read Micro SD (Transflash) cards. Unlike the R4 Revolution for Nintendo DS, the Edge supports Micro SDHC memory cards. Micro SDHC memory cards are high capacity memory cards. We’ve successfully tested the device using Kingston and Sandisk 1GB, 2GB and 4GB and 8GB Micro SD cards without any problems. At present, 8GB is the highest capacity memory card commercially available, although the Edge’s makers say it can support Micro SDHC cards up to 32GB.




The Edge DS also features a faster processor then its predecessor, in that it loads and saves games in about half the time. The Edge DS super card supports roms (backup games) as well as multimedia files (e.g. Movie files and MP3 playback). It turns your DS Lite into much more than a games console.




With the Edge DS, you’ll have the ability to store loads of games on 1 single cartridge which means no more lost game chips (excellent for kids), you can also enjoy some of the functionality which has made the PSP so popular with many consumers e.g. Movie playback, Music (MP3) playback, web browsing (through homebrew applications) where wifi is available.
